Nintendo has released Version 1.1.1 for Splatoon Raiders, addressing a widespread user interface confusion surrounding the game's Tank Limiter mechanic alongside a slate of gameplay fixes.
The Tank Limiter acts as a cap on the Skill Points system, preventing players from over-investing in single attributes—such as health or weapon power—during the early game. Once enough Skill Points are distributed across various categories, players unlock the option to release the limiter, raising the cap to allow further stat investment.
Following launch, players widely reported that the option to release the limiter was broken. However, the problem stemmed from counterintuitive UI design rather than a software bug. While virtually every menu selection in the game requires a standard button press, releasing the Tank Limiter required holding down the A button. This led players to rapidly tap the button, mistakenly believing the input was failing.
The issue was reported frequently enough that Nintendo’s Japanese customer support account issued a statement on X instructing players to hold the button down. Patch 1.1.1 eliminates the confusion entirely by changing the Tank Limiter release to a standard A-button press.
Beyond the UI adjustment, the update resolves a crash related to the Nintendo Switch 2 touchscreen, fixes collision and movement bugs, and addresses several combat mechanics.
